2001.10.18 第3回Movie:Tomb Raider
STORY：ララ・クロフトは、セクシーでパワフルな「お宝」ハンター。ある日彼女は、20年前に行方不明に なり死亡した父親クロフト卿の隠し部屋から、不思議な古い時計を見つける。その時計について調べているうちに、 彼女の元に父親から手紙が来る。その時計は、強力な力を発揮する古代の秘宝への手がかりだったのだ。 ララは、愛する父の遺志を引き継ぎ、ナゾ解きに取り掛かり、世界を駆け巡る。しかし、彼女の宿敵、 マンフレッド・パウエルもまた、ララと同じものを狙っていた・・・。

[Int. Croft manor in England. Day. Lara reacts, reading a letter that has just been delivered to her. Her colleague, Bryce, and her butler, Hillary look on.]
Hillary: Lara?
Lara: It's from my father. It was written before he died and delivered today as per his instructions
Bryce: Blimey.
Hillary: Holy shh.....
Lara: (Reading the latter) "To see a world in a grain of sand and a heaven in a wild flower, hold infinity in the palm of your hand and eternity in an hour." William Blake.
(She finds a poetry book on the shelf and opens it.)
Lara: The all seeing eye.
(She finds a hidden letter inside the cover.)
Lara: (Reading the letter) "My darling daughter, I knew you'd figure this out. If you are reading this letter, I am no longer with you and I miss you and love you always and forever. It also means I have failed and must place an awful burden on your shoulders".
Lara: (Continuing the letter) "Lara, by now I am sure you will have discovered the clock I conceaned. The clock is the key, Lara. It will unlck the hiding place of two pieces of a sacred icon. This is the magical triangle I told you about when you were a little girl. The triangle of light.But it is no badtime story. The triangle was forged from metal found deep in the crater of a meteor that had fallen to earth at the exact moment of the previous alignment og the nine planets."
Lara: (Continuing the letter) "The people of the light built a great city in this crater where they worshiped the triangle for its ability to control time. It gave its possessor a power that could be used for good or for great evil. Their abuse of this power led to the destruction of the city. To be sure no man would ever again wield this power, they split the triangle into two pieces and hid them at opposite ends of the earth."
Lara: (Continuing the letter) "Lara, do you remember the jasmine that only grows in one temple along the ancient Khmer trail in Cambodia? Find that and you will have found the entrance to the Tomb of the Dancing Light where the first half of the triangle is hidden. You must be there at the exact moment of the second phase of the planetary alignment."
Lara: (Continuing the letter) "You must hurry. You have very little time and as the planets move into alignment, the world will be in great danger, for the secret society known as the Illuminati, devious dangerous men, seek to fulfill an ancient prophecy by reuniting the two halves and attaining the thiangle's awesome and terrible powers. This you must prevent at all costs. So, Lara, I'm asking you to complete my work. To find and destroy both halves of the triangle."
[Later at the manor]
Bryce: How are you going to get to Cambodia and get the clock back in 15 hours?
Lara: I'll be calling in a favor
Hillary: What kind of favor?
Lara: Well, that is a secret. It I told you, I'd have to kill you.
（訳）
[屋内。イングランドにあるクロフト邸。日中。配達されたばかりの手紙を読んで、ララは驚く。仲間のブ ライスと執事のヒラリーがそばで見ている。]
Hillary: ララ?
Lara: パパからよ。死ぬ前に書いて、パパの支持通りに今日届けられたの。
Bryce: たまげた。
Hillary: こりゃあ、、、
Lara: (手紙を読む) "一粒の砂の中に世界を、野の花の中に天国を見られるように、手の平に無限を 握り締め、一刻の中に永遠を閉じ込めよ。" ウィリアム・ブライク。
(彼女は棚の上にある詩集を見つけ、それを開く。)
Lara: 全智の目
(ララは表紙の中に隠してあった手紙を見つける。)
Lara: (手紙を読む) "愛する娘よ。これらを見つけ出すことは知っていた。お前がこの手紙を読んでい るのなら、私はもはやこの世にはおらず、お前と会えないことを寂しく思っている。いつで も永遠に愛しているよ。さらに、私は失敗し、お前に重い荷を背負わせなければならないこと も意味する".
Lara: (手紙を読み続ける) "ララ、今頃、私の隠した時計を発見していることだろう。その時計がカ ギだ、ララ。それは聖なるイコンの２片の隠し場所を解き明かしてくれる。お前が幼いころに話し てやった、魔法のトライアングルだ。光のトライアングル。しかし、それは眠る前に聞かせるおとぎ 話ではない。そのトライアングルは、前回の9惑星直接のまさにその瞬間、地球に落ちてきた隕石の クレーターの深いところで見つかった金属で作られたものだ。"
Lara: (手紙を読み続ける) "光の人々はこのクレーターに偉大な年を築き、そのトライアングルを時に 支配できるものとして崇めた。それは所有者に、善ないし巨悪のために使える力を与えた。彼らがこ の力を悪用したので、都市は崩壊した。誰もこの力を2度と行使できないように、彼らを地球の両 極に隠した。"
Lara: (手紙を読み続ける) "ララ、カンボジアの古代クメール遺跡の小道沿いの、ある寺院の中にしか生 えないジャスミンの花を覚えているかね。それを見つければ、「踊る光の墓」への入り口を見つけたこ とになる、そこにトライアングルの最初の１片が隠されている。惑星直列の第２段階の瞬間にそこに いなければならない。"
Lara: (手紙を読み続ける) "急ぐことだ。ほとんど時間がない。惑星が直列へと向かうと、世界は大変危 険に陥る。なぜなら、イルミナーティという秘密結社の、狡猾で危険な連中が、二つの破片を結合 させ、トライアングルのすさまじく、かつ恐ろしい力を手に入れて古代の予言をかなえようと狙って いるからだ。おまえは、なんとしてもそれを阻止しなければならない。そこで、ララ、こうしておまえ に私の仕事を完遂するよう、頼んでいるのだ。トライアングルの２片を二つとも見つけて、破壊 するのだ。"
[その後、クロフト邸で]
Bryce: どうやって、１５時間でカンボジアにたどり着いて時計を取り戻すんだ？
Lara: あるところにお願いするわ。
Hillary: どんなお願い？
Lara: あのね、それは秘密よ。話したら、あなたを殺さなけりゃならないもの
