STORY:ロサンゼルス市警察の刑事カーター（クリス・タッカー）は、休暇をとって大親友で香港警察の 警部のリー(ジャッキー・チェン）を訪ねている。カーターがリーにくっついて香港見物をしていたある日、 在香港の米国勢間の捜査官が二人、爆弾によって殺される。香港警察はこの爆破事件の主犯格が、チャイニ ーズマフィア「トライアッド」の指導者のリッキー・タンであるとにらみ、リーに操作させる。リーと 行動を共にするカーターも事件に首を突っ込むことになり、二人はやがてアメリカに飛ぶ・・・。
[int. Night club in Hong Kong. Night. Lee brings Carter, whois visiting from Los Angeles, to a night club. Carter sings a Michael Jackson song on stage, but Lee stop him.]
Carter: Lee, those people love me, man. Come on out here.
Lee: Get off the stage.
Carter: Are you crazy, man? I'm a star. I'm god to there people. Come check this out.
Lee: This is a gangstar bar. We are here undercover.
Carter: I knew you was lying.
Lee: I'm sorry, Carter.
Carter: you are liar.
Lee: We are here to find Ricky Tan. We must tread softry.
Carter: Tread softry? What are you talking about? Who taought you how to roust a bar?
Lee: These man are Triads, the most deadry gang in China.
Carter: You think that scare me? I'm from Los Angels. We invented gangs. Give me that badge.
(Trying to get Lee's police badge) I'll show you how to roust up a ......
Lee: No! you are civilian. In Hong Kong, I am Michel Jackson, you are Toto.
Carter: You mean Tito! Toto is what we ate last night for dinner. Now give me that badge. Give it.
(Carter grabs the badge from Lee and goes un on stage.)
Carter: (To everybody at the night club) Okey, listen up!
(Carter says something in Cantonese.)
Carter: Right, Now!
(The audience simply stares at him. Carter goes to Lee, who stands on the side of the stage.)
Carter: What did I just say?
Lee: You just asked everybody to pick up their samurai swords and shave your butt.
Carter: I said that?
Lee: Yes.
Carter: Come out here and translate this for me.
[Ext.Yocht/back deck. Night. Lee and Carter come to see Ricky Tan.]
Ricky: Lee, I've been expecting you. please, ask your partner to wait inside.
Carter: Hell, no, I ain't going nowhere.
Lee: It's okey.
Carter: I'm not leaving you alone, Lee.
Lee: I'll be fine.
Carter: You sure?
Lee: Yes.
Carter: I'll be upstairs.
(Carter exits)
Ricky: I know what everybody is saying. I did not blow up the American Embassy. I'm not that stupid. But I believe some of my people did it. My enemies are trying to frame me. There is a war going on right now within the Triads. I'm afraid I'm going to lose this time. If your father were still alive, I would turn to him for advise.
Lee: Please don't.
Ricky : Lee, I really need your help. I cannot trust anybody else.
Lee: Tell me why they killed the customs agents.
Ricky: I'll gave you all the information you need, but you got to get me out of Hong Kong right away.
